FAMILY EVENTS CALENDAR
Meet Bob the Builder™ “in person” at Strong National Museum of Play® every weekend from September 29, 2007, through January 6, 2008, in conjunction with the exhibit Bob the Builder™––Project: Build It. Enjoy a variety of Bob-related family programs throughout the run of the exhibit, which remains on view at Strong through January 6, 2008.
Bob the Builder™ Opening Weekend
Saturday, September 29, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 30, 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
Be among the first to explore the new exhibit, say hello to Bob “in person,”
stop at a Building Zone for fun with construction vehicles and blocks, and
take home your own plastic yellow construction hat.

Meet Bob “in person.” Take part in the Magical Adventures of Builder Bill on Friday, Saturday, and Monday at 11:30 a.m., and 1:00 and 2:30 p.m., and on Sunday at 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. Builder Bill (a.k.a. Bill Gormont) will surprise you as he designs, builds, and tests his newest and most amazing invention—the Wizkaboomabox—with the audience’s assistance. Alpine Sue performs interactive songs and stories about tools, steam shovels, Iron John, and Bob the Builderd™on Friday, Saturday, and Monday from
11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Dress up like a construction worker and drop into several Building Zones for all sorts of construction fun.
Healthy Bodies: Under Construction
Saturday, October 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, October 21, 12 noon to 5 p.m.
Meet Slim Goodbody, whose popular PBS television shows and touring performances have taught kids about everything from their vertebrae to their ventricles. Trace your body. Learn about healthy eating and exercise at stations run by Unity Health dietitians and staff dressed in giant fruit costumes. Visit the mini doctor’s “office” and have your pulse, ears, eyes, and reflexes checked. Take home mini water bottles, fruit and veggie stickers, and fitness coloring books . Cosponsored by Unity Hospital and Rocmoms.com. Included with general museum admission fees.
Bob’s Dance Party
Saturday, November 17, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, November 18, 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
Build your dancing skills. Join Bob and Carpenter Pam as they work out to Mambo No. 5, Crocodile Rock, and the Can-Do Crew’s favorite—Can We Fix It? Help Bob to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle by using recycled goods to build your own musical instruments. Be part of a musical tool band as you hammer out a tune, saw up a song, and create music with toy tools. Come dressed in work clothes, or borrow a costume from the dress-up area. Clown around with Crystal and Scooter.
Toddler Book Club––Build on Books
Mondays, October 1, 15, 22, and 29
Story readings with a construction theme followed by music, movement, nature, or art activities at
10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. Play with trucks, build with blocks, and sing construction songs. Hear stories about construction workers and the things they build. Have fun in the new exhibit Bob the Builder™––Project: Build It after book club.
Monday Kicks for Ages 2 to 6—Build with Bob
Monday, October 22, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Meet Bob “in person” and build like he does! Build with blocks, tools, and trucks in the Construction Zone. Build on stories when you read aloud with a museum host. Create a dance by building on music and movement. Design a collage from cool art materials.
School Break with Bob
Saturday, December 22 through Tuesday, January 1
Regular museum hours (Please note: The museum will close at 4:00 p.m. on December 24 and 31 and will be closed on December 25.)
Meet Bob “in person,” make a paper bag puppet of Wendy, Spud, or another member of the Can-Do Crew; and enjoy the exhibit before it leaves on January 6.
All Bob the Builder™ family programs are included with regular museum admission fees.
