Grossology Programs for Kids at
Strong National Museum of Play®

From bad breath and barfing to belching and boogers—learn all about the many biological processes that go on daily in our bodies at the exhibit Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body on view at Strong National Museum of Play, January 19 through May 11, 2008. Grossology uses sophisticated animatronics and imaginative exhibits to tell the good, the bad, and the downright ugly about runny noses, body odor, and other unmentionables.

Strong National Museum of Play presents the following family programs in conjunction with the Grossology exhibit:
Grossology Opening Weekend Celebration—Saturday, January 19; Sunday, January 20; and Monday, January 21: Are you brave enough to stick your hand into mystery boxes to feel assorted body parts? Join “Dr. Gooey” for delightfully gross body parts activities including organ toss, skeleton bone mix-up, and body trivia. Try your hand at the game of “Operation” or “What’s In Ned’s Head?” Young children can play doctor by examining stuffed animals with stethoscopes and thermometers.

Stinky School-Break Week—Monday, February 18 through Friday, February 22:
What a gas! A week of stinky fun in conjunction with the Grossology exhibit. Explore the exhibit where you can enter a gigantic nasal passage for a Tour du Nose, discover which foods cause gas when you play Gas Attack pinball, help the larger-than-life Burp Man release a giant burp, and much more. Plus, test your speed and dexterity with Sport Stacking, an exciting new sport where kids up-stack and down-stack twelve specially-designed cups called Speed Stacks in predetermined sequences as fast as they can. On Monday, keep your eyes peeled as young champions from the world of Sport Stacking show how it’s done at lightning speed! This simple game develops hand-eye coordination, ambidexterity, and bilateral proficiency—using both sides of your body and brain.

Gross Me Out!—Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30: Come see surprising juggling stunts by Hilby the Skinny German Juggle Boy at performances throughout the weekend. Play body parts games such as “What’s In Ned’s Head?” and “Operation.” Kids can play doctor to stuffed animals with stethoscopes and thermometers.

All Grossology programs are included with general museum admission fees.
