Building Healthy Bodies
at Strong National Museum of Play®
October 20 & 21

Meet PBS television personality Slim Goodbody, visit a mini-doctor’s “office,” chat with a nutritionist, trace your body, and more at Building Healthy Bodies, a weekend of healthful family fun presented by Unity Hospital at Strong National Museum of Play® Saturday, October 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 21 from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. The weekend event is cosponsored by Rocmoms.com in conjunction with the museum’s new exhibit Bob the Builder™—Project: Build It.

Kids and families are invited to visit the following interactive stations run by Unity Hospital professional clinicians and staff.

Tracing Bodies: Kids can trace their bodies on newsprint paper and will receive a cutout of their outline to take to the next activity area.

Nutrition: Meet giant costumed fruits and veggies, receive colorful fruit and veggie stickers, and decorate your body cutout. Unity dietitians will be available to chat with kids and parents and answer questions about healthy eating.

Exercise: A sports “referee” will greet guests and get kids stretching and moving. Guests will also receive a free Unity water bottle and fitness coloring and activity book.

Health and Safety: Meet Slim Goodbody and visit a mini-doctor’s office where you can learn about bicycle safety, safe trick-or-treating, and more. Stethoscopes, thermometers, and other medical instruments are available for hands-on learning.

While children are engaged in activities, parents can speak with representatives from Unity Hospital’s Family Birth Place and Emergency Center, and Ob-Gyn, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and Dental practices.

And don’t miss the new Bob the Builder™—Project: Build It. exhibit. Meet Bob “in person” during this program and during every weekend through January 6, 2008.

All Building Healthy Bodies activities are included with general museum admission fees.
